a dry, chewy, half-burnt lemon-garlic roasted chicken.
not even wes will eat it.

whoever said that new moms should try cooking to relieve stress has never been a stressed out mama. i used to be able to roast a chicken in my sleep. i used to whip out a cheesecake without another thought. it's like my brain has totally died. FIZZLED.
i even tried to follow a recipe. the problem was the frozen gizzards inside the damn chicken. i hate taking them out & wes wasn't here to get them for me, so i just left it in. little did i know, but the gizzards weren't thawed! so as the rest of the chicken roasted, the center was still frozen. so we baked it a bit longer. then even more longer. then we pulled the gizzards out & baked it a bit longer. then we realized that it was overdone & we would not be eating it tonight. in fact, we haven't even eaten yet tonight....b/c we have really no other ready to eat food in this house. b/c we suck.
oh, bother.

ugh...should have come to my house and took me up on our leftover offer. I may have just put a "burn a chicken" curse on you for turning me down.
ReplyDeleteHey, at least you tried. It sounded yummy at the time.
Hang in there my friend.
Honey, that looks like a crime scene photo.....
ReplyDeleteI've thrown my share of meals out with the dogs. One of gma Hazel's favorite stories is of the brick hard biscuits her sister Thelma made when they lived together, and they buried them out back so their husbands wouldn't see them, then the dog dug them up, but even he wouldn't eat them....
i was thinking it reminded me of the 'griswold's family christmas' turkey... but now that you mentioned the crime scene, that does look like it!
ReplyDelete& judy, yes, i have thought to myself more than 20 times tonight that i should've just taken you up on your offer!
we went to Noodles instead.
