the post title is from adeline & is a question she often asks...about time being continuous. she wants me to explain it all to her so she can understand the concept forever. when i tell her that sometimes even adults have a hard time grasping this concept she becomes flabbergasted. adults know everything, right? right?!

lately, addy has been running up to me, snuggling or telling me, i want to snuggle with you. for all of those who know adeline--this snuggling is unusual. & nearly every time we snuggle, she hugs me tightly & tells me "i don't want you to die ever. never die." other times she puts her hand on my head & asks me how i'm feeling, if i'm not sick anymore.
i'm trying to find ways to shield the girls partly from the health crap i've been going through...because i don't want them constantly to worry that i'm sick or dying (i'm not!), especially addy who has a propensity to worry about an ant being squished or the moon not being in the sky. but i also don't want them to totally be in the dark about what's going on. ugh.

amelia has been taking a swim class once a week. she LOVES it. it's her favorite part of her day for nearly 5 days (apparently, she has yet to understand days?). anyway, in her class they sing different songs to get the kids moving around in water...one of which is the hokey pokey.
you have not lived life until you hear & see amelia sing the hokey pokey. i must must must get it on a video to post. & then keep this video to play back for her in 15 years.
& here's a picture of last saturday's class...our little cute fish, amelia, was used as the example of how to do the backfloat! so, so proud.

& we had a parent-teacher meeting last week with addy's set of teachers (classroom teacher, speech therapist, occupational therapist, adaptive gym teacher, & preschool coordinator). aside from praising addy's progress this past school year--there was much of that--they all mentioned how kind & sweet & polite she is...melting my momma heart.

we've had a few normal weeks, thankfully. just minor injuries & such. last week i--SPRING CLEANED--*gasp*. nearly every window in the house, including the sill, is now clean. walls are wiped. floorboards behind heavy furniture are dusted. i don't know what got into me, i'm not the spring cleaning type. i think it was the first window i washed & upon seeing how filthy the window sill was & how long it took just to clean that out, i knew it was time. we are coming upon the 4th spring in this house, so i suppose it's time to do some heavy cleaning. my muscles HATE me for this. but there is some level of satisfaction that comes with knowing my house is clean, you know? plus...we are painting a few rooms soon.

easter! my favorite holiday. we made it to the saturday evening service at church. they had the choir out (i like that) & suddenly a guy & a gal came out & rapped the rest of the worship song with the choir in the background. then they ended the service with this keith green song. my parents used to listen to keith green when i was young & i think i was the only person under the age of 50 in the auditorium who knew this song. which is totally okay with me because keith green--& especially this song--just gives me joy, brings back some pretty wonderful memories.
& then yesterday we hosted an easter dinner with about 22 (20?) in attendance. it was a super good time. 5 girls ages 4 & under, lots of grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles...& a very humid, soggy day. but the girls did egg hunts, scavenger hunts, played well together, dinner (made by everyone but me! love my family) was so tasty...

next year, we will not hide it in the bathtub...candy being eaten off the bathroom floor is just not a very appetizing sight.

we did a picture scavenger hunt for the girls, which took them all over the house, following the clues. adeline finished it in minutes...amelia took her time, snacking on her m&m's found with each clue.

i decided to finally make another round of cake pops for easter (the first was at christmas, with my mother in law in the lead), mostly because adeline was asking me nearly every day to make them. so i started the process friday by baking the cake. addy helped. friday evening wes & adeline shredded the cake & added the frosting. friday night wes & i rolled them into pops. the pops spent the night in the freezer & since i couldn't sleep much friday night, i got up around 5:30 & by 6 a.m. i had all 43 cake pops dipped in the chocolate. (i know, crazy & awesome, all at the same time). soon after i was downstairs, adeline slinked down, barely able to keep her eyes open. she whispered to me: i knew you were down here baking with chocolate. you the best mommy ever. can i help?

easter morning. amelia is wearing the easater-kitten-bunny pj's we got both of them. addy refused to wear hers in fear of getting too cold. anyway, JUMP it's easter!
