project home

somehow i have decided this spring is a great time to take on projects.
  1. list of all county services for the vineyard benefit bank. organize these in excel & then also in a binder. yes, ALL services. (whatdidigetmyselfinto)
  2. clutter around the house (shoes, toys, mini dolls, books, etc--they must have a home or else...their home is not here)
  3. make a rug. actually, i'm making two.this latch-hook one & then a knitted rag rug. blame pinterest. but really, i've wanted to make rugs for awhile because i can not find one for under $200 that is what i want & need. so i've put up with the rugs that we need & now i'm pushing back. so take that target rugs.
  4. this is a biggie: i'm thinking of new ways i can make an income. SHAZAM. there is this idea of a gf bakery floating around, or maybe a new monetized gf cooking/living blog. both require much more thought & brain activity than i currently have because my focus has been on project #1 that takes hours of each day. but i'm doing it joyfully, okay?
  5. i'm giving in & saying we need a mini van. or a vehicle with a 3rd row seat. so i find myself looking at car websites--which is so very unappealing to me. you may be thinking what cars are they looking at? well, this has been such a debate between wes & i. well, really between heidi A & heidi B. forget the need for a 3rd row seat, go for higher mpg, a hybrid or a prius or focus.the 3rd row is needed 3 days a week & whenever we need to transport a friend (which i'm hoping happens next year for car pulls to & from schools). so really, the ability to fit 3 or more car seats/booster seats is necessary. so ixnay the smaller car, higher mpg idea. so then we move onto cars with 3rd row seats.here's my list: sienna. mazda 5. ford taurus x...gah! & now i've just spent 45 minutes looking up cars. and cars are so freakin expensive. ugh. it just makes only use guttural noises.
  6. alleviating stress & frustration in positive ways.like yoga, meditation, prayer, massage for pain, walking, expressing emotions instead of bottling it up... again, this leads me to only making guttural noises...*sigh*
  7. clothing for the girls. is it going to stay hot? cold? in between? i think i have moved their shorts back & forth several times. i have now given up: they have snow pants mixed with shorts & tanks. who cares!
  8. slowly getting information about this growth behind my knee, aka: julia, the bakers cyst. although the docs won't say for sure if it's a baker's cyst until i had the MRI, which i did a few weeks ago. now i need to make another appointment with this specialist to figure it all out & then look forward to a probable minor surgery. lovely! but still, it's a project completing all the pre-requisites.
  9. getting amelia into preschool next year....how can i not have this done yet?!

then there is the family. we are over the shock of addy's EVA. extra-curriculars are almost over & i'm refusing to sign them up for anything but swim lessons this summer. we are re-LAX-ing, folks. letting the ebb & flow of life take us.

crap! i need to make lunch in order to get addy to school....*focus, heidi*

okay, i'm back. oh yea, folks, this is real time blogging. somehow i decided to quickly stop off at this thrift store after dropping addy off to look for a bike trailer because my mother's day gift was a bike! wooohooo! so now i need a bike trailer & i can officially be a rad-greenie, biking the kids around, sweating like a fool. so anyway, the thrift store actually had a trailer, but it didn't have the part that connects to the bike...& it was rusted a bit on the wheels. bummer. so i passed on it.

but! the trip was a success because the nannied boy spotted a very loud & big fire truck that i agreed to buy (he hardly has any toys specifically for him here) but when we got home he had to take a nap immediately. so now amelia is playing with it. because the doll swing that we found for her for $2 keeps dumping her poor baby doll, evelyn, out onto the floor. which is very traumatic for doll mother & doll.

what else? well, amelia has now told me that her favorite bible story is about the people who only poop outside. it took me several guesses about who that would be about, but it's adam & eve. see, we *are* teaching them great things, eh? i swear, everything about this girlie revolves around poop & poop jokes. it's hilarious & slightly concerning. and she has an entire song & dance about how she wants to marry us all. i think freud would have a fun time with our children...

addy is preoccupied with soccer & finding a friend to play with every.single.day. the day is a miserable disaster if she is not able to play constantly for stretches of an hour or more. yesterday she played with our neighbor friends for nearly 3 hours straight. & what happened when we told her to come home for dinner? sobs & her saying that she hardly gets to play with her friends, arms crossed...total drama.

also yesterday was a tap class--both addy & amelia are enrolled--but amelia instead refused to walk. "i WON'T use my legs today." & then proceeded to lay down in the parking lot, crying. so then i had nannied boy off near the doors, trying to open it & addy practicing her tap moves on the sidewalk (we had to go in the front entrance instead of the side door due to being the last people to arrive for class) so all the building staff (3  middle aged women) were able to take the scene in: me, hands full with a fully loaded picnic snack & lunch bag, enormous & heavy purse, nannied boy's diaper bag, trying to convince amelia to use her legs & stop screaming & flailing herself about in the middle of the parking lot blacktop. then nannied boy would push the handicap door opener, running in & out, in & out, in & out--nearly being squished a few times. then there was addy sometimes going back & forth between attempting to talk amelia into being a calm kiddo & then saving nannied boy's fingers from being squished...then she would suddenly break into dancing & singing, swinging her back pack around with flair.

it was quite a moment. finally, i picked her up--amelia--& trudged everyone to the class then promptly put amelia halfway down the hall in an eternal time out.  good stuff, eh?

also! the benefit for my parents was a huge, smashing success. the group of friends, the whole evening, everyone wearing the same shirt. 400+ people made their way through the auction & concert & dinner. i was totally amazed...it made my faith grow. i felt like i was seeing a miracle unfold. more about that later, i have an incessant 3 year old hanging off of me...
