that man who won't stop? well, he's my husband. he had a vasectomy yesterday & this morning he got up, made adeline oatmeal, fed the dog, got breakfast for himself & made me coffee. what? i am really wondering what is wrong with him! since i take sleeping pills b/c of insomnia & adrenal stuff i need to be *shaken* awake sometimes so i reminded him last night that if he hears a child awake at night or early in the morning to shake me a bit, take my covers off--do whatever you have to (& cover your ears to not hear the obscenities i'll be grumbling to him). instead, he does it all & even cleans up addy's poop trail to the bathroom (which i think i need to get more info about but it does sound like a funny story at this point--thankfully on the tile floor, though).
so in case any dudes or wives are out there wondering how wes is doing: he's pretty a-okay. it appears that today he feels a bit more sore at the incisions instead of sore all over the (ahem) affected area. he's icing for 20 minutes an hour. i picked up some of the office episodes from the library--a show we are just starting to get into. i think we might have seen a bad one years ago & decided we didn't like it. now, NOW we think it's hilarious. & community.
today i'm heading to the polaris mall with the girls & my sister. i am hoping to avoid the fountains there but...doubt that will happen. so i guess i gotta pack a water diaper & everything. & get a shower this morning. & get the girls ready. & empty the dishwasher. & get a lunch ready for wes to grab. so why am i blogging when i should be doing all of this stuff?!
but before i leave, did i mention that i bought a loaf of bread from this gluten free bakery? well, last friday i drug the girls to this bakery & we picked out some bread & of course some whoopie pies (even still YUM as gf!) & this bread lasted me through a deli sandwich, a pbj, bruschetta, another pbj, & then a peanut butter & banana sandwich. hello carbs. when i was eating this stuff i think i had this look of: don't talk to me. i'm eating bread. bread that doesn't taste like rotten cardboard.
also, i read two books on vacation (well, finished one the day after vacation) & they were depressing. why can't i pick books on vacation that are funny or something besides depressing? so i read evening & revolutionary road & cried my eyes out. but they also lead me to take a good look at my life, seeing joy & love & purpose & even sprinkles of contentedness...& embracing that. i know that god wants me where i am right now, this has been confirmed many times. & i have to believe then that i have a purpose while being & doing what he wants. so yea, i have embraced that & love where i am, what i do (being a SAHM, lol, sorta being a nanny now). plus i'm reading ecclesiastes & even though some folks seem to think it a depressing book i think it's the opposite: inspiring, hushing my thoughts that what i do as a SAHM are futile. b/c if it's all futile, then why chase after something that i god doesn't want me to? hhmm, i think i need a lot more time to explain this all. but i don't have the time. i super need to take a shower now!

so, this is what I have heard. Men have this amazing sense of "I can do anything" the day after a vascetomy. Then, they realize that 2 days after their surgery, they should have slowed down the day before. I hope this isn't the case for him. Glad he is doing great today and that you got your coffee this morning.
