heidi style spanish inquisition

last night i woke up to see wes skitter across the room. for some reason, at 2 a.m. i was in a jolly good & talkative mood. here's our dialogue:

it may seem that i was being grumpy but i was biting my tongue so as not to laugh. wes is hilarious when grumpy & tired...*literally* (that was for all you parks & rec folks out there!).

heidi: what were you doing?
wes: when?
h: just now.
w: turning the light off.
h: why was the light on?
w: because i left it on.
h: why?
w: from 4 hours ago. i just forgot to turn it off.
h: so did you pee?
w: when?
h: just now, did you pee?
w: no.
h:did you poop?
w: no.
h: did you pee 4 hours ago? {by this time i am barely unable to stifle my laughs but am also struggling not to fall back asleep--of course, this is the one time when i wake up & AM able to fall back asleep quickly}
w: why are you asking me this? {he's getting highly grumpy by now}.
h: what time is it?
w: 4:22
h: so did you pee 4 hours ago?
w: yes!
h: did you poop?
w: no.
h: why not?
w: i don't know.

a few long seconds go by...& just before i go back to sleep:

h: did you have diarrhea?! {bust up laughing}
w: {groans} why are you doing this to me?

so this morning wes called it the middle of the night spanish inquisition. i think i did it because seeing wes skitter across the room in his skivvies is just too good to pass up. & for the record, i did think it was in the morning, more around 7 than 2...

adeline titled our day yesterday: "the busy day girl party day". very official.

we invited her best friend from school to have a play date party after school...& while dropping addy off at school her teacher, grinning, tells me that she's heard all about our play date today. addy's friend had been in the building all of 30 seconds & had shared the news with anyone who would listen. i'm sure it was a rough day for the teachers, hearing those two girls jabber on & on & on about their plans. but they also had a green party, so maybe that had a level of awesomeness similar to a play date girl party.

as you can tell, addy calls play dates parties. if there's a boy here, it's a boy party & vice versa. so this week was the girl party & she's already planning the boy party for next week. she had two boys in mind but i told her that both her & amelia can not have a play date on the same day, especially on the day when the nannied baby boy is here. her response: BUT! then if all 3 boys are here there will be more boys than girls. because griswold is a boy. so there are 4 boys & 3 girls...so then we can have a boy party!

my answer: no. & griswold does not count because he eats vomit & poop.

moving on. here is the chocolate pudding with green whipped cream that i made for addy's play date. then on the ride home the girl tells me she doesn't like chocolate. sooo...whoops.

& here are the girls making some cut outs...(notice addy's 3 levels of green?! she was all over this green party)

& this would be amelia using something very interesting to cut out the cookies...
...my wedding & engagement rings! GASP. i took them off & laid them far away on the top counter. then i notice amelia doing odd cut outs, very small ones. they had been using their wee medicine cups to make small cookies, which was a pretty good idea, eh? anyway, amelia had my rings totally covered in cookie dough, immersed in this huge pile. ugh.

so after addy grew bored of the cookies & ran off to watch tv (it was only her 2nd show of the day, so i let it slide) amelia & i made the icing & baked the cookies. i quickly gave one to amelia to sample & she did this:
 licked off the icing.

then she gives me the slobbered up naked cookie & very sweetly asks, more icin' pweeze?

she followed me around for the next 10 minutes being all cute but persistent. with her little tiny pointer finger sticking up in the air at me, she would ask: more icin' pweeze, just a wittle tiny bit on my finger, pweeze?

i relented a few times, of course. who wouldn't?!

but we have noticed that amelia doesn't use the -ing part of words. everything is dancin' or eatin' or walkin' or icin' or shoppin' or coughin' etc. you get the picture. apparently our mill-de-beast has become our inhouse hillbilly! we must think up a new nickname to complement that...
