the monster that lurks beneath...

this is our laundry pile

yea, i know. it kinda makes you want to run somewhere, maybe even hide? i don't even think this was all of it...i mean, what hellish kind of a week did we have to merit this monster?! but sadly, this is pretty normal. especially with a laundry chute...because we'll just send stuff down & suddenly we go down to the pantry (behind the monster) & SHOCK: there it is. plus, i knew it was this big because we were all out of socks, all the girls out of pj's, & GASP, i was out of stretchy pants!

what does your monster look like?

we had a good old fashioned new year's eve-faux christmas with my family...this was at my grandma's house.
trust me, this was the best picture of all the choices...

& the long awaited "GIRL" (hhmm, mixed feelings about that) legos are out. i couldn't walk by the aisle at target without knowing if wes was there, he'd put a few things back & get the lego for the girls instead. so that's what i did.

sometimes, i think i'm missing out on something like dress up time...especially when i see this dancing around on the floor:

i mean, did snow white suddenly come to life?

as i may have mentioned, adeline has switched preschool times this semester, so wes no longer takes her to school (& amelia is not in preschool this semester--which she loves, loves, hates. *sigh* 3 year olds). now i'm scurrying them & usually the nannied baby boy out the door, after a quick argument over weather appropriate clothing with adeline.

one day last week i gave in & told her to wear her light jacket--i don't care--even if it is below freezing out. awesome, right? i assumed this would be the day the teacher would spring for an outside recess. but as soon as i opened the door to the garage, i could hear adeline shouting to me: BBBBRRRRSSSS! repeat 10 times at a high pitch.

i was all: get over it, you chose a light jacket, your decision, & walked over to open her door.

she giggled & said: no mommy, BIRDDDS! & then pointed up at the top of the garage, right over my head. (i'm not sure if it's how she said birds first or my hearing loss that made me think she was complaining about being cold. or maybe because complaining is just so freakin' common right now...)

so yea, BIRDS! oh shiester! egads! shit shit shit! birds, as in more than a dozen were perched on our garage door metal-thingy-ma-boppers. the door to the house was open, but the garage door to the outside was closed.

so i opened the garage door going out & wound up with the dozen or more birds flying like a scene from the birds, specifically around minute 1 in this clip...

yes, GAH! so addy & i are running around the car, the birds fly out...& amelia is just sitting in the doorway (from garage to house) without expression & mutters out to us, "that was crazy, guys"....yep.
