oh, poor adeline. she is so sick! throughout the evening & night she continued to vomit everything up...& when that was gone she was dry heaving. she has held down 4 ounces of half water, half gatorade this morning. i'm hoping by 10 or so she will be able to eat some baby rice cereal w/ mushy bananas. ya know, i'm already mixing it up for amelia, might as well make it for her too (she has been dying to try it every time i feed millie). so this is a picture of our little sickie, on the couch, sleeping. notice the bucket near by :o)
at the ped's yesterday, she vomited once in the waiting room & then again in the exam room. i'm really becoming a pro at public vomiting behavior. people will look at you like i made her do it. people will move as far away as possible. no one will smile at you or offer to help (except the very wonderful receptionist who laughs & says she deals with this all the time). note to self: if you see a parent with a sick child, offer to help!
it has been determined that this is most likely not a virus, bacteria, etc, nor is it strep throat...most likely from a food allergy or some sort of gastro (or autoimmune) problem. so we are to keep a food diary for 3 months that includes everything she eats & then her reaction (behavior, skin, bowels, & any fever or vomiting as well). for those who know addy well, this is going to be difficult as she eats constantly! then we will be sent to some sort of pediatric specialist & will have this wonderful chart of all the food & reactions to speed up the process. we want to avoid putting her through scopes & scans & pricks hopefully with this food diary.
as for amelia...she has been so happy the past few days! laughing & smiling...she is very excited about 'rocket baby' & rice cereal. when i go near her with a bowl & spoon she starts kicking her legs & flailing her arms everywhere & has a huge smile on her face. she will continue to smile until she's had enough...then she just attempts to spit it out. it's a good time. everyone gets messy! AND last night she rolled over in her crib, smooshing her head against the railing & waking herself up. she just looked absolutely shocked laying there, face up (b/c she sleeps on her belly).
so i am here with the sickie, working off of 4 hours of sleep...no worries, wes made extra coffee this morning!
