new bedroom pictures!

of course wes reminded me that we can just plug a cord into the camera to download pictures. it takes longer. anyway, here are some views into amelia's new room...even just a day later we've changed a few things here & there. notice there aren't any toys beyond books yet! so if she wants to get out of her bed, all she has to play with are books...she has trouble opening her drawers so far but when that ability starts i'm sure we'll have clothes all over the floor. until then, she has been staying in her bed reading to herself.

*how adorable!*

so i'll move you around the room:

the entire family placed the owl, heart, tree branch, & flower petal stickers around her room...amelia was stoked about this.

see her reading nook? her & adeline have already fought over who gets to sit there. *sigh*

amelia pulling the books out of the bin & moving them to where she wants them...

this wall is now covered in stickers

bird fabric (again, ikea). & again, some of this wall is also covered in stickers...

sorting out which books go in the nightstand, which go on her bed. big deal to her...

this was right after she came into her new bedroom...so happy, eh?!

before bedtime in her big girl bed. *sigh*

so wes & i ran into a wall of sisterly jealousy last night. adeline is totally deflated that amelia has this brand new room, furniture & STICKERS on her WALL! adeline cried & cried about this...& finally broke down, telling us that she wants a pretty bedroom, too. i was like: child, you have a pretty bedroom! so we talked a bit about it all & decided that monday or tuesday night we will add a few new stickers to her walls (which she *does* have a tree sticker on her wall!) & find a few more fun things to do, like put pictures up of her grandparents & jimmy, cliff & bri's cat (sorry, asher, but jimmy plays with addy. maybe more cat nip next visit?). but she still cried herself to sleep.

i want them to both feel equally special but amelia sits back & watches adeline get new school clothes, new paints, going to school, playing on the bigger playgrounds, etc etc etc...so why can't adeline do the same for amelia once?

anyway. wes chopped-sawed-cut branches of our trees on thursday & while i bundled them up in twine & laid them in the tree lawn for the yard waste garbage trucks....that was last thursday, right? & i barely helped paint--i did about half the trim & a 1/4 of the rolling on two coats of paint. yes, so all of that was thursday & i am still so sore that i can barely move my arms stretched out. last night i woke up with about 5 or 6 huge knots in my muscles on my neck, upper back, & shoulders...which then moved into a migraine. you get the picture: it all hurt, my head my neck my shoulders my eyes my ears. (my feet & legs didn't!). so i manage to get up, take some meds & climb back in bed, trying to fall back asleep. 45 minutes later, i get up again & take some more meds...this time i somehow knock over a glass of water on my dresser, waking wes up. so as i'm taking the pills he helps me switch out my pillow (long story but somehow i misplaced my pillow last wednesday! how on earth can i do that?! it's like it disappeared), finishes cleaning up the water spill & then proceeds to give me a massage on my neck & shoulders. at 3:55 a.m. for the next 45 minutes until i told him: you need to go to sleep!!! & then he rolled over & was asleep in about 2 minutes while i lay there thinking about how sweet he is to me.

thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes. he is such a kind hearted husband. i am always reminded of how i should treat him by the way he treats me; with love, serving each other, giving of our time--or our sleep. anyway, i thought i should write this down so i can remember how awesome he is as i'm putting down the toilet seat next time. *smile*

& i started reading the problem of pain by c.s. lewis. i'm still in the introduction & already have found a few good lines. i'll share later, maybe. (& lol, i forget what you're supposed to do with a title: underline, italicize, or whatever so i just did them all)

  1. I love her room, you did such a great job! I so wish we had an Ikea, I found so much I wanted for Audrey online there, but they don't let you order online! Thanks for sharing the pics!

  2. the room looks really great--i'm so impressed! do you want to help a certain sister and bro-in-law with their nursery?

titles of books are usually underlined ;-)
