looking forward to...

PRENOTE: I THOUGHT I HAD POSTED THIS ALREADY! ooooppsss.

...january!

i know i'm not the only one, also. i mean, my sister will most likely have her baby in that month, so i'm sure she's longing for it also.
so i'm an introvert. but somehow i do enjoy hanging out with people;  i look forward to it. certain contexts are better than others. parties? well, they make me nervous & shy. & i attended two parties this weekend (hosting one). so today, emotionally, i'm shot. if wes wants a hug, i'll point to one of the girls: hug her. if the girls want a hug, i'll point to wes: hug him.

not really, but you get the gist.

however! my sister's baby shower was pretty enjoyable, i have to say. maybe because i forced my mom to take over the onesie-iron-on-applique THING-CRAFT that i could not for the life of me understand. (it was my idea to do this, too! seriously. don't know what i was thinking besides "oh that would be so cute to do for kristi's shower").

see the cluster of nieces surrounding her? yes, it was gift opening time.
& that's my foot! on the right. there are such great pictures of me lately.

thangs

& my minor cold last night turned into massive cold. amelia is super duper sick with a sinus/ear infection that isn't going away with antibiotics (that make her poo CONSTANTLY...just when we think peeing in the potty is going well. then it's not).

so yea, whine whine whine. we are sick as usual.

sunday was my grandpa bill's 80th birthday party! 80 years. (i really hope to live that long, right?) i made the trip with only adeline b/c of amelia's thick, constantly oozing green snot & cough. i haven't seen the majority of this side of my family in a decade. maybe even longer. i didn't recognize most of them...which i had no clue that my great aunts were there until after i left. figures.

then there was the ending of the party for us: addy eating a piece of cake with pecans on it (something she is highly allergic to)...it doesn't appear that she actually ate a pecan piece b/c we didn't have to use the epi pen. i just freaked out a wee bit as addy's lips & eyes swelled & blistered up; my mom & i hopped in the car, bought some benedryl (the antihistamine helps relieve the allergic reaction, otherwise known as: her windpipe can not swell up!) & drugged her up. she's fine now! she just gets super grumpy after the exposure for about 12 to 24 hours (getting her to school today took every ounce of manipulation i had in me at 8 a.m.).

so...events are just sort of flying by us right now. i am always surprised when i look at the calendar, seriously, already past mid-october?! this is my favorite time of the year--it can't go so fast. shouldn't. i mean, it's about 50 degrees outside, leaves are turning, & it's raining. i love it. (really) the next best thing would be a snowstorm...

yep, so maybe in january our schedule will calm down. the girls are buzzing about fake-auntie-holli's wedding in december, about aunt kristi's baby-belly, & constantly changing their minds about what they want to be for halloween.

& i just want a few hours to read a book or maybe even get a new pair of black stretchy pants...
