mundane...or not.

recently i've been exercising every other day. exciting, eh?! these are the reasons you read this blog! to find out my mundane dailies...so this morning after dropping adeline off at school i started in on my dr. oz's recommended exercise for fibromyalgia victims (yes, i'm a victim! damnit) & i let amelia watch tv. i told her she could watch 3 shows! splendid, wonderful...right? she hardly ever is allowed to watch that many shows in a row. but somehow my parenting issues against tv worked and she didn't want to watch more than the one show. i was just getting on the elliptical *sigh* (boring!) when she comes in & sits to watch me. & then say she wants a bath. so i scamper over to the bathroom, get a bath quickly going & tell her to turn the water off when it reaches her belly button.

now i have some not so rockin' music playing. it's the only way i will make it through the elliptical, right? so i can barely hear anything except the music & amelia yelling something to me non stop. as in: MOMMYMOMMYMOMMYHEYHEYHEYYOUMOMMYHELPMEMOMMY. etc. so i scamper over & tell her i can't hear her & what in heavens name does she need?! (i'm walking in place in the bathroom to keep my heart rate going) & she's all: i'm bored, i want you in here...can you get me the soap? what am i supposed to do in the bath without anyone to talk to?

so i explain that she is to relax & soak & play by herself & then give her the soap & i'm back on the elliptical. *sigh* half a song goes by & yet again she's yelling for me. i try my hardest to ignore her but then i think what if she's somehow drowning?! so then i rush in & she tells me how much she wants a bubble bath.

etc etc etc blah blah blah. how is a mom to exercise? my goal is to lose 10 pounds in 3 months. is that reasonable? i dunno. but i've gained about 20 in 10 months. gotta love thyroid issues! i know if i don't do anything i'll just keep gaining which increases my fibro pain. so exercise it is. eat more veggies, less carbs, etc. did i ever mention how much i hate it all? i love carbs! (gf ones, of course).

have i mentioned recently that amelia is in LOVE with katy perry? i do remember talking with a friend last summer. i said this exactly, "there will never be katy perry played in my house!" *huge sigh* alas, katy perry is played non stop by miss millie bean. she walks around with my ipod. she finds it on the computer & youtube. we have a cd given to us that is played in the car. i can't escape it, her, katy perry. millie even watches the making of roar on youtube. so not only do i get to listen to katy perry singing but also talking about how wonderful she is & prancing around in her pretend torn undies. & now amelia argues with me that the video of the song roar is REAL LIFE. she believes katy perry is deserted on an island still, with her friends monkey & tiger & elephant. ... if only we would be so lucky, right?

or not lucky. i dunno. there is a slim part of me who's thankful for millie's fascination with KP...she gets up in front of people & sings the songs, dances...comes out of her shell a bit. amelia seems to have a bit more confident. so i'm dealing with the KP issue & can not help it when it pops into my head... in fact, KP is performing in columbus soon. i hear it on the radio & the thought actually crossed my head: i should take amelia & adeline!

WTF?! is her music filled with subliminal messages to love her, give in to her music? gah!

in other big news: i've decided to begin updating my resume...which leads to applying for jobs! working out of this house! naturally, the girls are terrified that it means i am abandoning them to be alone (addy) or sending them to the worst day care ever (amelia).

we've been sick lately, right? actually, wes is STILL sick. hearing him cough hurts my ears...it's that loud. i know, poor wes. but, go to the doctor, right?! anyway, we've been sick & i've been home most of this winter. this cold, snowy winter...which i love! yes, truth. so being home this much ... kinda makes one a bit neurotic. and i snapped many days in a row. reached the point when i knew this wasn't healthy of me to detest certain things to do with being a stay at home parent.

maybe it's just being stuck inside with illness all around. or maybe it's really time for me to get back out into a job that pays something. a place of my own, where kids aren't grabbing at me & fighting with each other & begging for my attention constantly. i dunno. i'm invested in my kids, right? i gave up continuing a career. i should stick with it. who cares if we don't have money to do anything!

then again.we need new carpet. i need sanity, a place where adults co-exist.

this is such a hard decision. but i'm going to give it a try. i mean, updating my resume won't  be that tedious: 7 years of household & family management. haha! what do i put for these 7 years? parent? nanny? small home bakery? student of childhood illnesses?

i had a dream last night that i tried to become a roofer! so i guess i don't really know what i want to do but roofing does not seem like something i would excel at...

ugh, i have about 3 calls to make to doc offices. must do these before they break for lunch!

but first let me say that i am not able to travel with wes to oregon this year. for two years i have had these 3-4 days of pure bliss: sleeping in, visiting my dearest friend, christine, hiking in oregon, eating out in fabulous little restaurants, seeing my cousins. but the money just doesn't work out this year. and i'm devastated! truly and purely sad about it all. money sucks, you know?

and totally different subject: it should be known that christmas did not go by without adeline vomiting. it's a tradition!
