ah, the newest adorable niece

so first let me say how amazing my sister was during the labor & delivery. & how awesome it is to see a birth, to see the transition from pregnant belly to a fresh, beautiful, wee human. & complement that with new parents who adore, love, trust, help, believe in, rely on, ETC each other--it was just so awing & humbling to be a part of evelyn's arrival. i mean, my part was so little but i feel entirely blessed to play the small role i had (to encourage my sister during labor & then 'hold a foot!'--which was so flippin cool to have that viewpoint, the foot end *smile*). the miracle of birth. wow. blows me away...

& just so everyone knows: her hair was born at 3:10 a.m. & the rest of her arrived 20  minutes later. yes, her hair is that long. i don't know why the babies in our family have such stellar hair at birth, but we'll take it!

AND anyone pregnant in the columbus area should deliver at this hospital, dublin methodist. it was awesome. the nurse was with her the entire time, was so helpful, their level of care for the new baby...it rivals the birthing center where adeline was born!

anyway.

the joyful new parents.

isn't this wee evelyn so adorable?! & look at that head control already. & that hair. & those eyes. & let's not forget those cheeks that need to be kissed constantly.& the tiny hands that go right into her mouth.
& doesn't my sister look like the picture of motherhood & post-delivery beauty? seriously...i want her hair. always have, always will.

my girls meet their newest cousin. ("gentle! gentle!")

& me, the uber excited aunt

& that's what we've been up to!
