first, know that i am on a time crunch...i've worked out my morning like my friend, christine, would...in 15 minute increments. i have until 9 to finish this post. as dora would tell me now, andele! (& i'm also eating breakfast while typing. what a morning: amelia refused to go to school--but did after being carried out; addy wasn't awake until 15 minutes before she had to leave; mom wasn't awake until 15 minutes before they had to leave; i woke up prior to that, around 5:45, with a horrid migraine; just before getting coats on addy decides to put the new butterfly wings on & instead, accidentally, knocks over wes' 16 ounce coffee cup all the while amelia is on the floor tucking her hands under her so we can't get her coat on her arms).
anyway. tick-tock.
you may not have heard much from me in the past week because it's been mostly raining here in columbus...which means, i've been a reading fool! a few months ago i requested the steig larson series from the library, along with several other books. *of course* they all came at once, around 5 books. the 2nd larson book was a 14 day book, so i had to start on the series first. 13 days later, i'm now about 100 pages into the 3rd book, the girl who kicked the hornet's nest.
i'm kinda surprised that i am totally addicted to these books. i had a dream last night that i couldn't find a toilet & salander helped me locate a toilet by hacking into a security system. *smile* then i woke up & found my own toilet & went back to sleep...
i also should mention that somehow i scored the large print edition of the girl who played with fire. i was turning pages every few minutes, totally annoying! & heavy. so, yep, that's what i'm up to. i love love love rainy days, rainy weeks. when the sun came out on friday, yea, i was happy & all but then driving around i became grumpy with the sun always in my eyes.
we spent saturday evening & sunday with wes' family...good times! i watched the 2nd half of the griswold's family vacation or something & now half of wes' sayings totally make sense (find the biggest ball of twine, etc etc etc) & we also watched the end of the movie 2012...& now i'm trying to figure out how to make my family important enough to end up on an ark. plus, some fun times shopping around with my sister in law, bri & mother in law.
anyway, egads, i only have 1 minute left. christine, i'm failing at this method...not at all shocking.
pictures!
love that they enjoy being together all day
pumpkin patch
addy insisted she would not be cold, so she wore a short sleeve shirt & capri leggings.
within 5 minutes of being there she begged off my hat & jacket. *frown* for me; *smile* for her.
the gang of girls
cheetoh covered amelia (yes, we just discovered that cheetohs are gluten free!)
the family
pumpkin painting & glittering
addy is very particular about how & where to put the glitter. amelia just goes crazy. i'm sure you are not surprised...
amelia is now in this habit of wearing patterns. so if she picks polka dots, she will have them on from head to toe, totally not matching most often. so below you will find amelia in just one of the striped outfits. the pants are capri, so she had to find the pair of knee high striped socks to go under the pants.
(& blame the fuzzy picture on wes. he turns on the manual thingy on the camera & forgets to turn it back on to automatic. argh!)
and! school pictures are already back!
can you see the orneriness lurking in her eyes? this look is just one that she gives right before she does something totally mischievous (the chin drawn in, her eyes focused, the close-lipped partial smile...all signs lead to the idea that right after this shot was snapped she probably made a very silly face or said NO & turned around or just ran off...this girl...love her. i have a feeling she will become the class clown or president. probably both.)
& then we come to the eldest, who practiced smiling for her picture. her mixture of kindness & empathy & brains & soccer skills & artistic flairs...she is going to rock the world one day, i know it.
it's amazing to see them go from baby to this. how awing & humbling parenting can be...
& it's pouring rain now. i MUST shower, but also, i'm being sucked into the idea of reading. (no, can't: shower, vacuum, laundry, nannied-boy dropped off, drop off books at library & then pick up girls....must do this.)

yah! i love it when i make it into the blog, even if it is for my neurosis sake:) i'm beginning lists on what not to do in a way...like must read, meditate, and nap before doing chore xyz...so against my nature! doesn't usually work, but still it's fun to find new reasons to make lists. experiments in making the chaos of life disguise itself in pseudo order, what a facade!
