here we are again.

fevers & children seem to go together rather nicely, eh? & adeline's body seems to take advantage of this...this week her temperature has gone over 100 several times. i'm not taking her temperature after she's been running around. usually i will notice she's suddenly tired, with sunken eyes & dark luggage-ish circles under her eyes.

we can't figure it out. doctors can't figure it out. if we kept her home from school or events because of these fevers, she'd miss half of everything. she's had x-rays (which just are horrible with her), blood drawls (she does rather well, actually!). sometimes i think it may be tied to some anxiety. her previous pediatrician thought she kept getting different viruses--but with the same symptoms? wonderful dr im is okay admitting that it's not different viruses, but he's not sure. if it's the same symptoms every time...the problem is the fever, plus being tired & withdrawn are really the only symptoms. 

so here it is: i have no clue what to do. wes doesn't know. do we just keep putting her through different medical tests, keeping her home from school when it's over 101. is her immune system lowered with the fever? WHAT IS IT? 

i wish i was a medical doctor, you know?

surprise, surprise

wes has surprised me with a trip to visit my friend in portland! yea!!!!! portland, here i come (well, in 5 weeks). i'm pretty stoked about this little adventure coming up.

today my mom went back to the james cancer center for her weekly chemo. last week her blood counts were low (read more details on her blog)...this morning she was due again & after a week of rest & hand sanitizer & anguish--her levels are up by 500! woohoo! i'm not sure how chemo has suddenly become something wonderful given how sick she is for 3 out of 7 days, but it is the medicine, right?

& speaking of my mom...my sister & i drove together to hang out with my mom & dad (sshhh, don't tell addy & amelia, they thought i was just hanging out with aunt kristi for the day--the hell they would put me through knowing i visited grammum & pop pop without them...oh my). anyway, we visited them to #1 get me out of the house #2 hopefully give my mom some smiles for a bit.

kristi & i forced hats on my mom, us saying how great they look, her saying she doesn't like the look. which is kinda funny because she tells me that i look good in a hat & i have her face shape, nose & mouth, so...logic states: mom, you look pretty fly in a hat.

then, i found my calling in life: outfitting my mom in comfy, stretchy clothes, completing it with a scarf & hat. i mean, that is what i wear nearly every day, so i know this stuff. i can do it in the dark, combine them all, put on a pair of sneakers. we shopped online, finding the same pair of stretchy pants i've been wearing for nearly 3 weeks straight (i know, i'm going to wash them today). check it out: comfortable pants! 

anyway, it was a really fun time, at least i had fun. the weird thing about the visit: driving home. kristi & i hit the only snowstorm this winter, possibly. it was difficult to see the car in front of us for a bit. kinda funny. but by the time we got to columbus, the sun was shining (yea, no snow here).

okay, i have a long list of things to accomplish today (including deciding whether to keep addy home from school or not...)
