last night adeline & i were trying to come up with a 'Z', meaning an object that addy may come across sometime throughout a day. some of these letters we've really been on top of. we sent in enough graham crackers for the entire class--a big hit, btw--& other such fun stuff.
so we were looking around for a z object & i didn't want to do zipper. everyone was going to bring in a zipper, right?! i had an epiphany: XYLOPHONE! & i totally didn't realize at that moment that it didn't start with a z, it's starts with an x. duh. not until this morning, as i was putting it in her bookbag & talking to wes about my stellar z find...*then* it hit me: X-y-l-o-p-h-o-n-e. damn.it.

i've been a bit frustrated this week that addy's teachers haven't sent anything home yet about the last day of school party she mentioned last week. i mean, tomorrow is the last day of school, right?!
wrong.
today i finally had a chance to pull the teacher aside in the parking lot & was all: is there party tomorrow? are parents able to come? blah blah blah. her teacher looked very confused & said that the abc party was just going to be combined with the last day of school party next week.
i think we both looked equally confused at that point. so i humbly say something along the lines of, isn't tomorrow the last day of school? apparently, no. next tuesday is the last day of school. what?! i honestly think my mix up came from a sheet published by the special needs preschool pta...but ah well. i guess that all day camp i signed her up for next week is not going to happen!

so a few weeks ago i took the girls to the zoo...i think i posted something about it. the zoo was hot, crowded, & adeline howled from the zoo playground to the car--after she had peed all over herself in the bathroom. b/c she peed all over herself i forgot that i had to pee, as well. by the time i marched to the car pulling a wagon filled with 80 pounds of wiggly kids, bags, water bottles, etc i had to GO. but i wasn't about to go back into the zoo or pull over at a gas station or restaurant (getting everyone out of the car again, screaming preschooler drawing dirty looks, etc). so i dumped out the remaining strawberries from our plastic container--& looking all around me first to ensure we were alone out in the parking lot--i peed in the container. rather successfully, i might add, i didn't miss at all. (women, hold your applause)
i then put the lid back on the plastic container (it wasn't the typical strawberry container, it was like a rubbermaid thingy). so i gently placed this sealed pee catcher on the floor of the passenger side. when we got home, amelia was sleeping & addy was still crying so we rushed inside. i totally forgot about the pee...
...until the next day. i was rummaging around the stuff on the passenger side floor (where i usually keep the diaper bag, extra snacks, & all that jazz) & sheer terror suddenly hit me. THE PEE CONTAINER! ***GAH*** i screamed when i realized what that wet stuff on my hands really was: my warm pee from the day before. lovely.
luckily we have these thick rubber grooved floor mats so the pee was contained to the rubber mats only. now i just had to get the mat out of the car, right? so with the girls already loaded in their car seats i gently remove all the other items from the floor, some covered in wet-stuff (ahem), some dry. i'm trying to balance the liquid on the mat but i failed. miserable fail. i dumped my day old, warm pee all over myself. shirt, pants, shoes, garage floor, purse. everything was soaked! yuck yuck yuck. i had to stop myself from gagging several times.

we have strawberries ripening at warp speed right now. as far as strawberry patches go, ours is fairly small so it's amazing that we're getting this many berries. & adeline is beyond excited about it, as is amelia. they just sit out there picking & eating. wes & i are very adamant about only picking ripe berries b/c addy is known to eat & actually like white berries. (blech!) so we're always saying: don't pick the ones with white on them! it's our berry-pickin' mantra.
so yesterday i was picking away with addy picking the perimeters while i was right in the middle of the patch about 4 feet in. surrounded by possibilities of snakes! not really, but that was my thought the entire time: snakes! snakes! snakes!
i was handing them over the addy as i picked, not really paying attention to what she was doing with them. then suddenly, she gets a totally serious & stern face & sharply tells me: you picking white ones, mommy. you not 'sposed to pick white ones. they make you sick. why you picking white ones?
i have to say i was a bit embarressed that i had picked a few with white spots. i mean, my 3 year old caught me! i didn't know what to reply. so i just laughed & explained that i can't see all the way around the berry when i'm precariously sitting in the middle of a patch with snakes possibly lurking & didn't mean to pick some with white spots.
her reply? no excuses, mommy. don't pick white ssstawwwburies. i think we may have a police officer on our hands? a judge?

okay, enough embarrassing stories. today i had an appointment with dr im...again. & again i have another new prescription for NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug). since the one vitamin supplement place didn't call me back with this adrenal supplement he sent me to another place, this time in worthington. it only took me 40 minutes to find it...with 2 grouchy, hungry kids in the back seat. *ugh*
wish me luck, eh?
but i did get some fairly decent advice from dr im. i asked him if this is normal to have to try so many different NSAID's & treatments before feeling better...you know, what's normal. his reply was: well, what is normal? he went on to explain that i do have a fairly atypical case with the variety of things i've dealt with recently but also mentioned that this is my dna makeup & we're on the way to figuring out what works & what doesn't. he said something along the lines of me being persistent but that i may struggle for quite awhile with the muscle & joint pain. some people have allergies for life, some have sinus problems, some have certain other problems & each problem has different solutions.
anyway, i found it helpful to hear that. he was being honest & i like that.
now i must go find addy's underwear, find where she said 'poopy fell on floor, mommy' & then get amelia's diaper changed for the first time since 7 a.m. (poor kid! driving around town forever really doesn't bode well with her)...
