Merry Christmas

  instead of a holiday/annual letter this year, (& yes, we decided to be frugal & not send out cards--some may call it grinch-ish, but in our defense: frugal...) i made up a sort-of holiday limerick to round the year out...really, with this blog, i'm sure if you want to know what's going on with us, well--you know where to find it, eh? as for the limerick, enjoy & sure, make fun of it a wee bit. (amateur!).

today! christmas eve!

This family we have, made of four
We cherish, we love and adore.
The home needs some repair
The girls need some care,
Oh, to have more time, parents implore!

There is a daddy of girlies chaotic,
Whose days involve the purchase of antibiotic.
He has a job & wife,
Loving all in life.
Home brew in hand, joy is cathartic.

This home has a mommy and wife,
Perfecting butt wipe and containing kid strife.
‘Oh to keep life sane,
To restrain us from mundane!’
Learning to enjoy what’s given in life.

The eldest daughter loves song and dance;
Making life a musical can only enhance.
She will learn and perform;
Her clothing not to conform.
Catch kindness and beauty in a glance.

There is the young daughter with spunk,
Who loves all animals—even the skunk!
She burrows into warm snuggles,
Learning and loving—oh, struggles.
Toting dolls, puzzles; quiet as a monk.

Merry Christmas we say with much love.
Friends and family don’t fall short of:
Holiday joy, hope, rest, peace;
Remember hats, coats, and fleece.
Happy New Year, love from God above.

the girls are over the moon about christmas. tonight i somehow switched out the gifts & gave the girls the totally wrong gifts (we have them exchange a gift or two to & from each other on christmas eve). my mom is notorious for doing this, mixing up gifts. so now, mom, i understand: it's not your fault!
