so, what a day! the girls bounded out of their beds, ready for school action. addy just kept singing a song that included a combination of 'i love school, going to school, get to see friends today, amelia's coming to school with me' etc. i think she could have flown there somehow just from her exuberant energy & sheer giddiness. amelia was pretty excited but obviously (& with good reason) was nervous. then we sang the wheels on the bus song on the drive there & by the time we arrived she was singing her favorite rendition: the people on the bus go POOP POOP POOP & then busting into giggles. that was then continued as we saw a bus drive by when walking up to the school...they both sprinted off to the wonderful mrs. r, arms wide open. addy shouting something like 'i missed you all summer! i love school!' & amelia just running to run for a hug (maybe she likes the drama of it all?). amelia did turn back to me & say with a huge smile: buh-bye, mommy! see you later! she also said her good byes to wes, yes. we had to coax a wave good bye out of addy.
try to find the partially obstructed amelia
this back pack was quite the adventure...we went to 5 stores to locate it. *sigh* the things parents do...
so it was a good time at school. i think it will be a great year at school, together.
egads, love these girls.
the rest of the day was rather stressful. ugh. parenting = tough shit at times. but enough sour on this sweet moment. my babies are in preschool...i can hardly believe it. i nearly teared up quite a few times but managed to make it through the parking lot before the tears flowed. but it's all good...this is how it's supposed to be: we raise them, we teach them, they start to leave the nest, slowly at first. it's good, eh?
