there are many, many things that have flown off the car while i'm driving. things i've placed on bumper or trunk & forgotten about: cell phone, several cups of coffee, diaper bag, dirty diapers, sippy cups, & probably a few more items that i'm forgetting once again.
while i'm at it, i could list the things i've driven over, dragged, or hit with the aztec (it is a bit hard to see out the back, just so you know--quite a blind spot): large trash cans, large bright red recycling bins, tricycle, toy shopping cart, & i have also drug the lid of the recycling bins down into the street! yep, pretty exciting, eh?
anyway. so amelia is almost fully potty trained. she wears a pull up to bed & that's it. sometimes she forgets to take it off in the morning & there's that wonderful near-3 year old poopy pull up to clean first thing in the morning. super yuck. but, part of the problem this past summer has been the playing outside time--how to work that into peeing in the potty instead of having an accident, or alternately, peeing in the grass. & yes, my girls both love to pee in the grass.
just a few weeks ago our neighbor & her friend called us laughing hysterically, & managed to get out this: just to let you know one of your girls just peed in my yard. *sigh* they are both very gracious mothers of grown kids, so they understand & remember these fun-filled years, thankfully.
for awhile we had a potty outside in the backyard for amelia to use...but then it just seemed way too redneck & when addy kept trying to use it i decided this may not be a good idea. plus, the nannied-boy kept picking up the bowl part & filling it with rocks, carrying it around. amelia even peed on the bowl filled with rocks once. again, reason enough to call it a bad idea.
so. where am i going with the car & potty training? well, sometime on tuesday i found a soaked pair of amelia's undies. i am not sure if she had an accident & then sprayed herself with the hose or if she just happened to spray herself with the hose. but for whatever reason, she decided to take her totally soaked undies off & throw them into the garage among the bikes & toys. i found them, laid them on the bumper of the car to dry & put a dry pair of undies on the commando-dress-wearing girlie.
then i totally forgot about the undies. i walked by them a dozen times & even remember thinking i should grab them. but i didn't. wednesday took the girls & i to several stores, like target, & chick fil a & a super busy park--where we scored a close parking spot to the entrance--perfect for folks walking by our car.
when we got home, i noticed the underwear still on the bumper, just as i had laid them the day before. i don't know whether to be embarrassed or awed. normally things fly off this car almost immediately...i guess they dried onto the bumper? i dunno.

yesterday i met up with my mother in law & exchanged the girls for a pink flintstone car (my MIL is an excellent garage saler). so today, i just have the nannied baby boy & we will be making our way to the zoo...i hope he likes dippin dots. then tomorrow we're doing this super lame garage sale...i really just want to put a sign out there--everything must go, $1. we'll see. wes & i are going to sorta set it up tonight & then i hope to also talk wes into making an afternoon trip to ikea tomorrow.
have i mentioned that adeline & amelia may be in the same preschool class this year? we'll find out for sure in a week (hopefully, because pre-k starts in 12 days) but this year the am/pm classes are not sorted by academic level & i can only transport them in the morning...so...yep. i hope they like each other *smile*. i'm not sure how i will react when dropping both of them off for the first time: cry or shouts of glee? probably a mixture of both.
