i do apologize for your sadness

amelia has been trying FOR DAYS to get shoes on her doll. the shoes that came with the doll do not stay on & are difficult for her to put on the doll. *sigh* so she has resorted to putting her own shoes on the doll. which go on quite easily but fall off within seconds.

this brings much tears, much sadness.

so she will give up on that pair of shoes ever fitting her doll & runs to her room to grab yet another pair. & then repeat the above situation.

have i *SIGHED* yet?

so this morning i got into her face & nicely & sternly told her: LOOK AT YOUR FEET. THEY ARE TWICE THE SIZE OF YOUR DOLL'S FEET. YOUR SHOES WILL NEVER FIT YOUR DOLL. THEY WILL FALL OFF ALL THE TIME. then i quietly added, i do apologize for your sadness, b/c her face was beginning to crumple up in a super sad, about to cry manner. then suddenly she looked down to her fancy red slippers, took them off her feet & happily tried to put them on her doll's feet.

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

yesterday a friend visited, paige. she's otherwise known as my tumor friend (b/c she had the same tumor & nearly same surgery as i did about two years ago). she freakishly also has a 2 year old named amelia who is equally as cute as our amelia. anyway.

paige commented on this water globe addy has. it's a miniature of a mom & daughter--both with blond hair--dancing together. it played music. it had glitter! it was a pretty cool thing, especially since i found it at target on clearance (right after mother's day) 2 years ago. it was a special gift to addy & she adores it. & paige said she'd been looking for a water globe for her amelia & mentioned that she's a bit worried it would shatter all over the place. i was like 'yea, we worry about that too so we only let addy have it in her room with carpet'. only this past 6 months have we even had it at arm's reach for this non-shattering purpose...

so amelia loves it also. rather, she covets. & this morning amelia snagged the glittery globe, took it into the bathroom & somehow the water globe crashed onto the floor, smashed into tiny pieces. our bathroom floor is covered in glitter & tears.

addy sobbed about 'member the last time we played it last night, mommy? i LOVED it. now i can't see it anymore. now i can't listen to it anymore. now i can't dance with it anymore. 'member the last time we played it. i loved it'.

& now that i've searched the internet to find a replacement...i want to cry like addy did...b/c it *was* special & totally not corny looking. ARGH! two year olds!

& *smile* oh, wise paige.

AND. meet the newest member of the gerbick family: julia!

nope, i'm not prego. i have a baker's cyst.  & have aptly named it julia (for julia childs. or is it julia child?). i found it monday after i was feeling around my leg for the trail of spit up from the nannied-boy & was like GGAAAAAHHHH! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT BUMP ON THE BACK OF MY LEG?! & immediately i went to tumors & i'm dying from some weird knee tumor. so i called wes freaking out & he calmed me down. i went to the doc on tuesday & there received the diagnosis of baker's cyst.

right now we're doing nothing. i turned down the MRI to confirm it & since it doesn't hurt we're not going to do anything with it at this point. if it grows, changes in any way, or begins to hurt--then something will be done. anyway! welcome, julia gerbick. maybe someday you will meet the same fate as harold gerbick...but until then, plan to come along with me while we search for shoes that will fit & stay on a tiny doll baby.
